There are now many vendors of “Tahitian” or “Black” Pearl jewelry who are either knowingly or unknowingly selling Chinese freshwater pearls that have been treated to look like Tahitian pearls. The freshwater pearl processors are getting good at making convincing replicas of Tahitian Pearls. We do use some freshwater pearls in our jewelry and when we do, we let you know. If we tell you it’s a Tahitian pearl then it is. We know pearls so we know a genuine Tahitian pearl when we see one and we can spot fake look-alikes so that you don’t have to worry.
